The firm as become known through the Senior Partner in practice for over 34 years, Boonchoo Counselor Ltd (BCL 1998 to present) formerly Boonchoo Blumenthal & Richter, Boonchoo Vipava & Glickman and Boonchoo International & Associates (1975-1998) a three partners' firm that stripe to understand businesses need of ways to achieve a result. A graduate of LL. B from Chulalongkorn U niversity Law School and a Diploma in Management from the Air U niversity U SAF, he was initially employed by J U SMAGTHAI, the US Pacific Command as a Personnel Assistant climbing up ladder through the rank of Head of Position and Pay Management (1967-1970), a staff counsel (1970-1974) and the General Counsel of Chase Manhattan Bank (1974-1980) in Thailand. In 1994, 1995 he authored two books titled “ Thailand Taxation Basics” and “Joint Business Ventures in Thailand ” currently being revised into new title of “Thai Legal Roadmap”.
BCL stays focus and enjoys legal practices in representing oversea entrepreneurs doing business in Thailand . We thus concentrate on what we can do in assisting clients to achieve an end result rather than not telling clients what he cannot do but without limitation to following areas:
1) In real estate and IP matters , we assist expatriates to acquire property and structure investment plan for catering to freehold or leasehold or joint ventures; representing clients to do land division, conveyance and put into effect marks, patent and all copyrighted works.
2) Employment practice renders assistance to expatriates on benefits that include work permit and visa and on to residency including family matters.
3 ) For corporate , we assist clients to set up and structure investment that show the way to BOI for 100% owned, controlled and managed, obtaining foreign business license (FBL), factory license, comment on corporate loan documentations and other licensing restructuring M&A that may be required in doing business in Thailand.
4) In taxation, we assist clients in tax planning under DTT to stay corporate good citizen.
5) On Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) , and Commercial Litigation, we moderate a contractual disputes and tort liability claim to discover and resolve differences and controversy. In contrast to advisory services, our ADR and Commercial Litigation are in alliance practice with other firms.
